As I understand it, the president and his advisors have come up with a plan to let young illegal immigrants who have been in this country since birth get work permits and legally work in this country.
My concern is just what they will be classified as? Will they be counted among the unemployed if they can not find a job? Will they then be able to claim unemployment compensation? Will they get free medical, as other illegal aliens get, or will they have to pay unemployment compensation prior to getting benefits.
I would like to know just what the dirty little secrets our government is keeping from us, on this attack on our country. What’s next? Will they be able to vote in the November election? What will come out after the November elections.
I believe that this country lasted as long as we have as a God-fearing Christian country of laws and regulations because we were led by God-fearing men and women of character, not the (others) that came along as excess baggage with the election of Barack Obama as our president.

Tony, get a grip. They aren't citizens. They can't even register to vote, so no, they won't be able to impact November's or any other election because they aren't getting citizenship. This isn't permanent, as the waivers are good only for two years before they have to reapply.
As non-citizens, they're not eligible for any federal aid program, just like every other non-citizen who isn't getting unemployment benefits, welfare or other aid program benefit.
What Obama did follows long-established precedent and existing policy. He's well within his powers to do what he did. If you want to blame someone, blame Congress.

Ask yourselves this question.
HOW WILL THESE NEWLY "AMNESTIED" 1-2 MILLION ILLEGAL ALIENS EXIST IN AMERICA?
HOW WILL THEY FEED THEMSELVES?
HOW WILL THEY CLOTHE THEMSELVES?
HOW WILL THEY PAY FOR A ROOF OVER THEIR HEADS?
HOW WILL THEY PAY THEIR UTILITIES?
HOW WILL THEY BUY A CAR?
HOW WILL THEY PAY FOR GAS (@ $3.49 PER GALLON) ?
IF THEY DO BECOME EMPLOYEED THAT MEANS THAT A CITIZEN OF MEXICO, GUATAMALA, HONDURAS, EL SALVADOR OR POINTS SOUTH = HAS TAKEN A JOB AWAY FROM A ...........LEGAL OR NATIVE BORN AMERICAN CITIZEN.
IF THEY DON'T GET A JOB THEN THEY MUST USE STOLEN OR FORGED DOCUMENTATION TO GET .......WELFARE.....FOOD STAMPS....WIC..."ACCESS HEALTH CARE"....HUD....SECTION-8...OR ANY OF THE OTHER SOCIAL SERVICE MONIES.
IF THEY DON'T GET A JOB AND IF THEY DON'T ILLEGALLY OBTAIN MONEY FROM THE SOCIAL SERVICES..........THEN THE ONLY THING LEFT IS TO BECOME .............CRIMINALS = BURGLARS, SCAMMERS, THEIVES, PICK-POCKETS AND CAR THEIVES.
THANK YOU PRESIDENTE OBAMA FOR ALLOWING 1-2 MILLION ILLEGAL ALIENS TO STEAL JOBS FROM "REAL" AMERICANS ......OR WORSE.

Tony,
Listen to CooperG. Not only are they not eligible, not having worked before, they are also not elligible. That native born HS grad who has never worked is not elligible either. We call this process "applying the facts to the law." Get some experience applying yourself. Or don't you have a job application out there?
Arizona Willie posted at 7:26 am on Thu, Jun 21, 2012.
CooperG: invading aliens already broke our laws by coming here illegally. Most of them have also committed identity theft by using other people's Social Security numbers in order to get a job.
They have already broken two or three laws just to come here and work.
In order to register to vote, all you have to do is state you are a citizen and sign the form.
NOBODY CHECKS IT.
Just why do you think people who would commit identity theft would balk at lying in order to vote for politicians who say they will let them stay in the country legally?
Really?
I know if I was an invading alien I would lie in a heart beat. What's one more crime? Especially when you know that no one checks your citizenship.
It's on the honor system.
Invading aliens have no honor in the first place or they would do like thousands of others do every year and file the paperwork and pay their fees and wait their turn to come here legally.
But they don't want to do it the legal way.
They want the Mexican way.
So tell me again ... just why you believe an illegal alien wouldn't lie in order to vote?
Hmmm?
fae4now posted at 10:14 am on Thu, Jun 21, 2012.
Willie, while the term 'invading aliens' has a theatrical flair it lacks substance. We are not on the beaches of Normandy and no one is shouting " the British are coming!".
In other words, there is no invasion.
You speak of honor. I call it desperation. Just how desperate would you have to be to put yourself through what our south of the border brethren go through?
Perhaps some research into your own family history might put it into perspective for you in understanding how you came to be here. Just luck.

fae4now ... my people came on a ship from England in 1843 --- legally through Ellis Island.
It doesn't require and armed uniformed army to constitution and invasion.

The influx of illegal aliens definitely meets the definition of an invasion as an unwanted harmful event.
Illegal aliens are invading aliens and it does NOT lack substance.

Who doesn't belive that illegal aliens are not getting welfare of all sorts? How many illegals that go to the emergency room pay a dime for their care? How can a day laborer on the side of the road support a family without rent, food etc etc subsidies? Or is this just a theoretical arguement.

Find no redeeming news from VOF or Leon, yet I have traced my family back yo the early 1800s around the present day Baltimore area, where most immigrant would register with whatever colony they lived in, especially since Ellis Island never opened until 1892, sorry Wille.

One must wonder, given his complete ignorance of unemployment benefits, if Anthony Milone has ever held a real job.
Not to mention his complete ignorance of American history:
"this country lasted as long as we have as a God-fearing Christian country"
Poor Anthony thinks this country's history was from 1954 to 1970 - the only time period where "god fearing" ignoramuses trampled the Constitution to get their superstitious nonsense on our money and in our Pledge.

"God-fearing men and women of character"
I just HAD to laugh at this!
Character is what you do when no one is watching..."god fearing" people are incapable of character; they believe someone is ALWAYS watching.

Ooops :0 ) My geneology research showed me they came on a ship from England in 1843 -- I presumed they came through Ellis Island ( my bad ).
I guess I should be embarrassed by my mistake but I'm too old to waste time on being embarrassed.
I goofed. Sorry.

Willie,
You are forgiven your timeline error as well as any typos that may slip through. I hope you'll be generous when my turn comes.
In the spirit of sharing here's a bite from my own ancestry: Great Grandfather arrived circa 1860 from Ireland with $5 to his name. Went on to become a prominent farmer, later dividing the farm among his 7 sons. That land provided a living for dozens and still does for the remaining farmers in the family. But there was a time when the 'invading' Irish were considered the scourge of our nation.
Late 1800s paternal Grandmother departs England as a child, arrives NY an orphan, her parents didn't survive the voyage. Luckily (for me) she was adopted, not deported.
Early 1900s, maternal Grandfather booked passage on the Titanic. Family emergency prevented his departure so he gave up his spot. He left Warsaw the following year and arrived in the US to find resentment of those 'can't speak the language' Poles taking jobs from 'real' Americans and making them look bad by out-working them.
The point is that some of our own history and the accompanying attitudes toward our ancestors isn't all that different from what we hear today.
The difference is that back then somewhere a door opened and someone gave them a chance and that's why YOU and I are here today.
But, you say, my ancestors came here LEGALLY! Well, yes but back then pretty much all they had to do to get in was - show up.
Arizona Willie posted at 1:09 pm on Fri, Jun 22, 2012.
fae4now, yes it was easier to emigrate way back when in the olden times.
But --- those who came wanted to be Americans and learn English. They did not demand election materials in their native language. They did not demand signs in stores in their language. And the store owners didn't bend over backwards to have signs in other languages.
English was the linga franca ... but it won't be for long.
More and more you hear Spanish in mainstream TV shows. Just a bit here and there but they are slipping it in. Signs everywhere in Spanish / English. Often with the Spanish predominate.
Many times I call some company and get their recorded message to Press 1 for Spanish 2 for English.
People report they get turned down for jobs if they can't speak Spanish because the company hires so many who can't speak English. They prefer them.
Far far different scenario than the emigrants of old. Yes they were discriminated against too. There were stereotypes of each nationality of emigrants.
But they worked hard to assimilate. They didn't march down the street waving the Irish / Italian / English flag demanding " rights ".
In those days we needed people to populate the country.
We have enough people now.
We cannot let everyone who just WANTS to come here just walk across the border and DEMAND to be made legal.
Great hordes of Chinese and Africans would LOVE to escape their country and come here.
But when we catch them we send them back.
Why are the hispanics better than the Chinese?
Why are the hispanics better than the Cubans who we send back ( wet foot / dry foot rule ).
Why are the hispanics better than the Haitians?
There are a couple million of them who live in much worse poverty than the Mexicans or Salvadorans.
We send Haitians back immediately when we catch them --- BUT NOT HISPANICS.

"People report they get turned down for jobs if they can't speak Spanish because the company hires so many who can't speak English. "
Did you know this is against the law, at least here in Arizona?
From Article 28 of the Arizona Constitution:
3. Preserving and enhancing the role of the officiallanguage; right to use English
Section 3. A. Representatives of government in this state shall preserve, protect and enhance the role of English as the official language of the government of Arizona.
B. A person shall not be discriminated against or penalized in any way because the person uses or attempts to use English in public or private communication.
Also, tuck this little gem away, from article 35 of the Arizona Constitution - aren't there illegal aliens trying to sue in AZ courts right now??
35. Actions by illegal aliens prohibited
A person who is present in this state in violation of federal immigration law related to improper entry by an alien shall not be awarded punitive damages in any action in any court in this state.
Arizona Willie posted at 3:42 pm on Fri, Jun 22, 2012.
Engaged Voter ... many things are against the law.
There are a lot of meaningless laws because there is no enforcement mechanism.
Republican politicians, especially, love to pass laws and take credit for passing them with voters --- without providing funds for enforcing the law they just created.
Take the OSHA laws for example.
The Republicans cut funding for OSHA every time they get a chance. They don't want the law actually enforced.
If you ask them about workplace safety they will tell you how there is this wonderful thing called OSHA, but they won't tell you it is so poorly funded that workplaces have little fear of any inspection -- and the inspectors actually call them ahead of time so they can clean up.
Same thing really for our immigration laws.
Some Republicans make a big to do about it, but they wont' vote to put the Army on the border to enforce it. I know ... I know there is some law that supposedly prevents that. But they --- TEMPORARILY --- put the National Guard on the border so that kinda puts the lie to that bit that it's illegal.

What if illegal immigrants under Obama plan can’t get jobs?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
President Obama’s plan, that will allow some non-U.S. citizens (illegal aliens) to remain in this country – and also apply for work authorization – has many believing the move is nothing more than a political ploy during this election year. For sure, it will take away from legal U.S. citizens and will made a large impact on undercutting Americans’ jobs.

Arizona Willie, someone IS always watching. I know you're an atheist, but you can't change the fact that God is real. I am a God-fearing person. This simply means that I respect Him more than man. That's what fearing God means.
Obama may deny it, but his so-called "plan" is amnesty.
Arizona Willie posted at 10:36 pm on Fri, Jun 22, 2012.
mrconservative ... I'm not an atheist ... I'm an agnostic.
The reason I am not an atheist is that I acknowledge the remote possibility I < could > be wrong.
I agree that Obama's plan is amnesty and that it is wrong.
As a liberal, I believe our taxes that we pay for social programs should benefit American citizens and legal residents ... not people who invade our country and thumb their nose at our laws.

The 800,000 young people who will be affected by Obama's Dream Act lite policy mostly already have jobs. Since they are eligible for zero benefits they have to work, unlike nativist whiners.
Only about 500,000 will actually apply for the two year deferment. The rest have too much distrust to come out of the shadows. Of those who do apply, some will return to school since many more educational opportunities will open up for them. That will take them out of the labor market, leaving job openings for those nativist whiners. We'll see if the natives actually want to work.
The net effect will be to decrease the total number of hours the undocumented work.
As for invasion, Willie, you are cheapening the language - English. Invaders kill people and break things. Undocumented people kill people at a far, far lower rate than the native born. And they generally don't break things - except an occasional dish.
As for language, 28% of 1st generation Latinos (the ones born in another country) are fluent in English. 93% of 2nd generation Latinos (the ones born in the US) are fluent in English. By the 3rd generation, only 22% are fluent in Spanish. About half of 3rd generation Latino kids in the US are unable to speak to their grandparents.
This is primarily a reflection of the fact that it is dreadfully hard for people over 20 to learn a second language. The numbers for Italian or Polish immigrant English language acquisition are about the same.
Latinos are losing their heritage language as has happened with all immigrants to the US. I think this is unfortunate, a loss for our country and for the affected children. Hopefully future leaders of our state (I hold out no hope for the current batch) will do what can be done to encourage preservation of the heritage language of immigrant groups - whether that's Spanish, Korean or whatever.
And let us hope those future leaders are wise enough to encourage the Anglo kids to learn Spanish or some other language at a very young age. Kindergarten is a little late to start.

You are delusional. Your god is a myth. Grow up.
(or, present your empirical evidence for the existence of a god...LOL)
Dear Arizona Willie,
"I'm not an atheist ... I'm an agnostic."
Are you an agnostic theist or an agnostic atheist?
Methinks you don't know what those words mean. They are NOT mutually exclusive.
