“I brought home a new breed of dog; it won’t drink anything but Tennessee whiskey. They call it a Jack Daniel’s Terrier.”
“Read the Vent about the Romneys’ (Howells’) get-together in the Hamptons. You are confused. That was the Kerrys (John). Oh, but wait, he is a Democrat, so it’s OK for him to be rich. Sometimes I forget which set of rules the liberals are using — theirs, or the ones for everyone else!”
“So the taxpayers paid $103 a day or $1,100 for the deputy’s food costs on Sheriff Joe’s Hawaii birther baloney. So, why didn’t he take some food from Tent City? After all, the Sheriff earned the nickname ‘Baloney Joe’ after his 35-cent sandwiches with salsa verde sauce.”
“Why don’t we contract out Chinese athletes for the Olympics. I’m sure they would work very hard and bring back lots of medals for us and it would be a lot cheaper than sending U.S. athletes.”
“When a company moves overseas in the name of tax breaks and in the name of a global economy the mess left behind is called outsourcing by Democrats, and entitlements by Republicans. Whatever you want to call it, American taxpayers have to clean up the mess. Shouldn’t getting up and walking away from your mess be considered an entitlement?”
“I wonder how many people who complain about the Olympic clothes have contributed to the Olympic Committee financially? It is not a tax-supported organization. Just people like me who send in a check. They need to make the dollar go as far as it can. You might question the downfall of the USA garment industry failing because the unions drove business out of the country. People do it here all the time. Like when they choose WalMart over Sears, for example. You stretch your dollar where you can.”
“Sadly, we see another mass shooting. This time in Colorado. Too bad there wasn’t an armed citizen in the movie theater to stop this crazy man from carrying out this massacre. If there was any doubt in anyone’s mind about the need for a gun-carrying public, just remind yourselves that there are no mass shootings at country western concerts.”

6th Venter, you claim the Olympics committee has to make the dollar go as far as it can.
So, can you please explain why it bought jackets that cost hundreds of dollars each by a famous designer?
The designer is making huge profits from these items. Why should they pay hundreds of dollars for the outfit each athlete wears just for the opening ceremonies?
Not even considering the designer had them made in China so that he made much more money ... it's just not an efficient use of money to spend that much.
It makes it hard to believe that the Olympics doesn't have enough money when they can blow thousands on fancy jackets for the Opening ceremony.

Vent #5: Seems to me that more and more of our citizens are being cleaned up. coddled and supported by our government all the time. It's called big government progressive socialism. Our present ruling party has produced more dependency than ever before.
Vent #6: For those of you young enough remember "Look for the the Union Label". Because they are all union labels from Union of Socialist Countries now. Of which we may well be one sooner than you think.

Seventh Venter,
Your comment is just a cowboy fantasy. The gunman had a high-powered assault rifle and full body armor, including a gas mask. He was ready for any "armed citizen" who would try to take him down.

7th venter: How do you KNOW there wasn't someone in the theater who was armed besides the shooter?
Sane people duck, they don't stand up like a Gunfight at the OK Corral.
You had a building with what, maybe 500 people and 1 nut job shooting and smoke bombs going off. People running everywhere. Pulling your weapon and returning fire would be just as likely to hit someone running away as to hit the shooter.
The odds are there WAS someone in the theater with a weapon.
But they had enough sense not to start firing.
Don't forget the theater was dark, smoke bombs were going off, the movie was still running making all kinds of noise, people were screaming and running wildly, the gunman was dressed all in black.
Not a good target at all.
Unless the gunman was standing right in front of you, the chances of a successful shot were slim. If he was standing in front of you a right cross would be the weapon of choice. If you shot him there is a chance the bullet could go right through and hit someone behind him.
There are situations where being armed can be beneficial, but in that situation it would be insane to open fire in the direction of the gunman.

Seventh Venter,
Get the facts. Anyone effectiviely bearing arms in that theater also had to have had a concealed gas mask. Are you now espousing that those who carry concealed also carry conceal a gas mask? Otherwise, if carrying the mask in the open, they get shot first!
