Chandler soldier dies in Iraq

A 25-year-old soldier from Chandler who was serving in Iraq died Sunday when a roadside bomb exploded near his vehicle, the U.S. Department of Defense announced Wednesday.

Caleb P. Christopher’s family gathered in a circle Wednesday evening inside their quiet ranch home, but declined to talk about their loved one.

According to a military press release, Christopher was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division out of Fort Hood, Texas.
