A man under the influence of drugs or alcohol refused to leave the Mormon Arizona Temple visitors center Tuesday and then fought with Mesa police officers who tried to evict him, court records show.

Officers sustained minor cuts and bruises during the scuffle and eventually subdued the man with a Taser, according to a police summary of the incident.

Police said Brad Alton Infanger, an unemployed transient man, was arrested on suspicion of criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Police said the incident started about 10:50 a.m. at the visitors center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints near Mesa Drive and Main Street in Mesa. Police said several elderly visitors and families with small children watched nearby as the man became combative and refused to leave the property.
