New data from the U.S. Census Bureau will be released Thursday that demonstrate the rapidly changing population in the Phoenix region.
The city demonstrated the largest population growth of any city between 2005 and 2006, according to U.S. Census figures.
Phoenix added 43,000 residents and became the nations’ fifth most populous city.
The data that will be released will document more than 200 selected ethnicities and workforce patterns, as well as populations of state prisons, nursing homes and college dorms.
The data will help determine how more than $300 billion in federal funds will be distributed, according to the Census Bureau.
