A man believed to be responsible for the shooting death of his father last week at a San Tan Valley home was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder in El Paso, Texas, on Saturday, according to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office.
Gino Anderson, 27, is awaiting extradition to Arizona. He was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement re-entering the United States from Mexico at the El Paso Port of Entry.
Anderson is accused of shooting his father, Dennis Anderson, 57, on July 26 at his home near Queen Creek in the 40000 block of North Arbor Street, according to Lt. Tamatha Villar, sheriff's office spokeswoman.
Anderson is being held in the El Paso County Jail. His2005 Mazda RX8 was spotted re-entering the United States, and he surrendered to U.S. officials, Villar said.
Villar said Anderson reportedly was discussing his financial problems with his father near the patio of their home when Gino Anderson's brother heard a gunshot. When the brother went to see what happened, he saw his father lying on the floor. Dennis Anderson died from a single gunshot wound to the chest, Villar said.
Gino Anderson's vehicle was secured by U.S. officials and will be transported to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office later this week, according to the sheriff's office.
