Chandler plans to celebrate a new pregnancy center with a "Hands of Mercy" banquet at the Crowne Plaza San Marcos Resort. The banquet will take place on October 30.

The Pregnancy Care Center located on 590 N. Alma School Road opened its doors in July and approximately 35 women have since sought help and counseling.

The center provides women who are facing unexpected pregnancies with counseling, pregnancy tests and education. Ultrasound services will be offered soon, according to the center.

The "Earn While You Learn" program is also offered by the Pregnancy Care Center. The program is funded by grants from Chandler and the Department of Health Services. It gives mothers an opportunity to earn credit towards baby items while being educated about child-rearing.

Tickets are available for $40 each. For reservations, please call (480) 374-2994 or e-mail contact@pccchandler.org.
