YUMA - Police are receiving calls from tipsters and others trying to help solve the killings of six people, including four children, but no new leads had emerged by Monday, authorities said.

"This type of investigation, because of the complexity of it, is not going to take a few minutes," Police Chief William Robinson said.

Officers responding to a call of shots fired in a residential neighborhood late Friday found a man in a home's backyard who had been shot several times. The man, Luis Rios, 35, died later at a hospital.

Inside, they found five other victims: Adrienne Heredia, 30, her son, Danny Heredia III, 6, her daughter, Inez Newman, 9, and Heredia's two other sons. The names of the last two boys, both 13, were being withheld because authorities hadn't been able to notify their father.

Autopsies were being performed on all the victims Monday.

The killings stunned neighbors in this southwestern Arizona community, which only had three homicides reported all last year. There had been two this year until Friday's killings.

Police are looking for a man seen running from the scene of the killings shortly after the shots were fired. The man was described as Hispanic, in his late 20s or early 30s with stocky build and buzz-cut hair.

Lt. John Lekan said the description came from a single witness. Authorities aren't sure if more than one suspect was involved.

Tracy Ortiz, a friend of Heredia's, said Heredia and Rios were good people.

Another friend, Linda Guerrero, said Rios "was really good for her. She had just started to be really happy."
