A drag race on U.S. 60 Sunday morning ended when a woman crashed, state highway authorities say. She has been taken into custody.

Two lanes on westbound U.S. 60 were closed for at least an hour this morning while authorities investigated the scene and cleared debris.

The race abruptly stopped when the woman's car hit a wall on the westbound lanes of U.S. 60, east of Stapley Drive at 9:52 a.m., said Department of Public Safety spokesman Joe Delgado. She apparently wasn't seriously injured, he said.

It is unknown whether the other driver involved will be taken into custody. Delgado said that he had no other information at that time.
