Superintendent Mike Cowan will lead the first Mesa Parent Advocates for Quality Schools (MPAQS) meeting of the school year, 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the district’s board room, 549 N. Stapley Drive.
Parents and community members in the Mesa Unified School District are invited to attend. Cowan will discuss his vision for student achievement, while Gerrick Monroe, assistant superintendent for business and support services, will discuss school finances and the district budget picture which includes a November election to ask voters for a continuation of budget override funding.
Kathy Bareiss, who leads the district’s community relations department, will discuss parent leadership resources and the cooperative working relationship between the school and parent organizations. For more information, call (480) 472-0223.
