Police arrested a Mesa man Monday on suspicion of raping and kidnapping an 18-year-old woman who worked as an escort.
Court records show Anthony Gustave Nelson, 33, called an escort service and requested service from a woman whom he had seen on the agency’s Web site.
When the escort arrived at 45 N. Phyllis, the man asked if he could perform oral sex on the woman, according to the court records. She refused and said she would only dance for him.
Gustave then paid the woman to dance for him, but when she tried to leave he pushed her onto the bed, grabbed her by the neck and threatened to kill her.
The woman told investigators that Gustave then raped her and refused to allow her to leave while performing additional sex acts on her, according to court records.
Gustave told police that he paid the woman to have sex with him and that she consented. However, he admitted grabbing her by the neck, preventing her from leaving and having sex with her again, although she didn’t want to.
Gustave also has been convicted in Colorado of forgery, records show. He is self-employed and works internationally in an unknown occupation.
