A Tempe woman was pronounced dead at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn hospital on Friday, shortly after a two-car crash at the intersection of 68th Street and McDowell Road.
The deceased woman, identified as Tina Williamson-Young, 44, was traveling eastbound on McDowell about 10:20 a.m. when she hit the back of a Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by James Krueger, 62, of Tempe, who was slowing down in traffic west of 68th Street, according to police.
Williamson-Young was not wearing her seat belt, according to police. Krueger received minor injuries from the crash, police said.
The preliminary crash investigation is pointing to a medical condition Williamson-Young had that may have caused her to become unconscious before colliding with the truck, according to police.
The intersection was closed for several hours Friday as officials investigated.
