A Scottsdale man who was trying to run from police Thursday broke his ankle after hopping walls, making his way onto a patio roof and falling out of a tree.
Thomas Rhone, 21, was one of three people arrested shortly before 9 p.m. after Scottsdale police responded to a call reporting possible drug sales at an apartment in the 3200 block of N. 70th Street.
Rhone, Alexander Juarez, 21, also of Scottsdale, and Nicole Valenzuela, 18, of Phoenix, were arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A handgun and rifle were also found, according to police.
When officers arrived at the apartment, Rhone began to fight with them before he fled and was seen jumping over walls into fenced patio areas of multiple residences. He then climbed onto a patio cover and jumped into a tree. It wasn’t known whether Rhone broke his ankle when he fell out of the tree or injured it when he ran away from police.
Rhone was treated and released from Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn hospital.
