Sereno 94 White, a boys soccer team from the Valley, finished as runner-up in the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships in Lancaster, Mass.
Sereno reached the championship game of the under-15 age division before falling, 2-0, to the Baltimore Casa Mia Bays 94 in the final. Baltimore scored 14 minutes into the game and added an insurance goal to give coach coach Steve Nichols his sixth U.S. Youth Soccer National Championship crown (he got his seventh on Sunday when the Baltimore Bays under-19 also won a national title).
Sereno went 2-1 in pool play, tied with two other teams, but won the tiebreaker to advance to the championship game. Sereno was the only Arizona team to qualify for nationals.
