Police are investigating a possible double suicide at a north Scottsdale golf course after a security guard found a husband and wife dead in a parked car early Sunday.

Each of the deceased — a 76-year-old male and a 71-year-old-female, both Scottsdale residents — suffered a single gunshot wound, Scottsdale police. It is believed each individual shot themselves, though the investigation continues.
Police are not releasing the couple’s names until their next of kin is notified.
A suicide note was found in another vehicle at a residence rented by the two. The note suggested that failing health might have motivated the pair to commit suicide, police said.
A guard at the Grayhawk Golf Club, 8620 E. Thompson Peak Parkway, noticed a newer-model gray Ford parked at about 12:30 a.m. and called police after discovering the bodies inside.
