Residents of a Scottsdale neighborhood called Cox Heights 4 are invited to a public meeting tonight to discuss new improvements to the area.

This marks the latest in a slew of meetings to decide what to do with $75,000 in grant money from the city. The previous plan, a public art piece by artist Mary Lucking featuring tall pinwheel flowers, was opposed by a vocal group of neighbors and ultimately scrapped.

Now the people living near Monte Vista and Hayden roads will come together again to discuss options, including new landscaping, sign toppers identifying the neighborhood, a monument at each entry point or a new public art project, said Christy Hill, Scottsdale citizen liaison.

“We said we would put the ideas out there to get the juices flowing,” Hill said. “They can decide to do nothing at all.”

The meeting will be tonight from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention Building, 2240 N. Hayden Road, Suite 100.

Questions can be directed to Hill at Coxheights@scottsdaleaz.gov.
