Police arrested a Chandler resident in connection with a shooting that injured a 20-year-old man early Sunday.
Jose Lopez, 25, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and other felony offenses. He was in car with two others when police say shots were fired from it. Officers are still searching for the other two men.
Lopez was arrested after abandoning the vehicle at an apartment complex in the 500 block of North McQueen Road. He was apprehended by a police canine about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to Chandler police.
The victim told a 911 dispatcher that someone was trying to shoot him while he and friends were driving east on Galveston Street near Arizona Avenue with his friends. A red Pontiac sedan with the three men in it pulled up behind the victim’s vehicle and opened fire with one of the bullets grazing the man’s neck, causing a minor injury, police said.
