Mesa school board approves $634M budget

The Mesa Unified School District governing board approved a $634.4 million budget Tuesday night for the 2009-10 school year.

Higley district approves $104M budget

Gilbert district OKs proposed $365M budget

A.J. district budget proposal cuts $3.9M

Mesa schools may have $21M less for salaries

 

The budget includes $408.85 million in its maintenance and operations fund, which is a decrease of $21.5 million from last year's budget, said George Zeigler, the district's chief financial officer.

The maintenance and operations portion of the budget pays for the majority of instructional costs, student transportation, general upkeep of district facilities and district administration and support.

The budget includes a 2.7 percent decrease in state funding and a 3.2 percent decline in the district's enrollment from the last school year.
