Scottsdale firefighters are continuing to investigate the cause of a weekend fire that destroyed a home under construction in the Troon neighborhood that caused nearly $2 million in damage. The Scottsdale Fire Department received a 911 call at 1:27 p.m. on Sunday of a house fire in the 10800 block of East Troon Mountain Drive.

When firefighters arrived, they said they discovered that an 11,000-square-foot, two-story home under construction was engulfed in flames in an area near a lot of brush.

About 40 firefighters battled the blaze for about an hour before it was under control, according to the fire department.

No injuries were reported from the incident, which caused an estimated $1.8 million in damage to the structure.

The name of the property owner and the construction company building the house were unavailable Monday, according to Dave Cieslak, fire department spokesman.
