A bank teller inside a Safeway in Scottsdale handed over the contents of a cash drawer Saturday after a man demanded money while displaying a gun, police said.
The suspect entered the store at 32551 N. Scottsdale Road and approached the U.S. Bank counter around 1:15 p.m., said to Scottsdale police officer Dave Pubins.
The man removed his gun and demanded cash from the teller, Pubins said.
According to witnesses, the man was white, between the ages of 30 and 35 and was around 5 feet 10 inches tall. He wore an all-brown outfit with a baseball hat, witnesses said. They also described the suspect as heavy-set, with dark brown hair and a goatee.
Police are still reviewing the Safeway surveillance video and have not released the footage, Pubins said.
The suspect left on foot and police have not released the amount of money he received.
Pubins said police are investigating the incident.
