Peoria, Ill., is the next new destination for Williams Gateway Airport passengers.
Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air said Saturday it will fly round-trips from Mesa to Greater Peoria Regional Airport on Wednesdays and Saturdays, starting Oct. 27.
Flights to the central Illinois destination will cost as little as $89 each way during the introductory period. Prices will jump to $109 after the introductory period.
The carrier said it will fly 130-seat, MD-80 jets from Mesa to Peoria.
Allegiant has already announced plans to fly between Williams Gateway and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Chicago Rockford, Ill., Bellingham, Wash., Missoula, Mont., Stockton and Santa Maria, Calif., Sioux Falls and Rapid City, S.D.
Four more new Mesa routes are planned and scheduled to be announced during the next few weeks.
