Camelback Road’s eastbound lanes were closed for about four hours Thursday morning as police investigated a collision involving a car and motorcycle near Civic Center Plaza.

The motorcyclist, a 46-year-old Phoenix man, was thrown from his bike at about 6:40 a.m. after a vehicle traveling west on Camelback turned left in front of him.

The man , who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn with a serious head injury. He was listed in serious but stable condition late Thursday morning.

The driver of the car, a 65-year-old Scottsdale woman, wasn’t injured. No citations had been issued as of Thursday morning.
