A Gilbert motorcyclist died Saturday morning after colliding with a vehicle making a U-turn in front of him near Gilbert and Ray roads, police said.
Sharon Findley, 63, of Goodyear was driving her Honda south on Gilbert Road when she made a U-turn between two raised medians before the intersection with Ray Road, said Gilbert police Sgt. Andrew Duncan.
Findley's car swung in front of the 62-year-old motorcyclist, and he was "unable to take evasive action to avoid striking" the car, Duncan said.
The man, who police did not identify, was taken to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn hospital, where he died of his injuries. Duncan said Findley had no injuries.
Police said it is possible speed was a factor in the collision on the 45 mph road.
