Hike up your lederhosen -- it’s Oktoberfest time in downtown Chandler.

Beginning at noon Saturday, SanTan Brewing Company will host its second annual celebration of German beer, polka music and bratwurst. The restaurant/brewery sits on the west side of Arizona Avenue, south of Buffalo Street, at 8 S. San Marcos Place, on the historic square.

The event is expected to include a “beer pong” tournament, weiner dog races, a bratwurst eating contest, keg stacking and other events.

Last year’s event drew more than 3,000 people, according to organizers. This year, they expect about 4,500.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at SanTan Brewing Company this week. Ticket sales also will be available the day of the event. Children under 12 get free admission.
