ALAMOSA, Colo. - A search is under way in southern Colorado for a missing medical plane with three people aboard.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Mike Fergus says flight controllers last had radio and radar contact with the twin-engine Beechcraft King Air at about 11:20 p.m. Mountain time Thursday.

Its last known location was about 20 miles southwest of Alamosa.

Civil Air Patrol incident commander Mike Young says they are studying radar data and rushing air and ground crews to the area.

FAA spokesman Ian Gregor says the flight originated in Phoenix and was headed to Alamosa. Those aboard were the pilot, a flight nurse and a paramedic.
