If you want to see a fairy tale come to life on the cheap, you've got a few more chances.

Tickets to Hale Centre Theatre's production of "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" are just $10 for kids through Aug. 8. After that, the price goes back up to $23 to $25.

The production is a live stage version of Disney's Academy Award-winning movie and Tony-nominated Broadway musical. As in its bigger-budget predecessor, the Gilbert theater packs the show with elaborate backdrops, costumes, makeup and props, transforming its tiny stage into one richly colored page from one storybook after another.

In the musical, Belle is played by Linsey Maxson, a local actress and soprano vocalist with the Divas of the Desert and the Red Mountain Big Band. Her husband, actor Tyler Maxson, portrays The Beast. The couple appeared last fall in "Blackbeard the Musical" at Herberger Theatre Center in Phoenix, a production that received nine Arizoni Theatre Awards, including one for best actor for Tyler Maxson.

Hale's $10 ticket deal is good for children ages 6 to 16. Tickets must be purchased at the box office or over the phone. "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" plays Thursdays through Saturdays until the end of August.
