Scottsdale’s main operation yard was evacuated Friday following reports of a “gas smell.”
“We’re trying to find the source of the smell,” said Pat Dodd, public affairs officer for the city. “It is not unsafe. They’re still allowing people to go in and get their stuff.”
Staff who take customer service calls have been moved to other buildings. The operations yard is closed for the rest of the day.
“It will be completely transparent to the public. They shouldn’t have any disruption to service at all,” Dodd said.
The operation yard is mainly where the city’s fleet maintenance facilities are located.
About 30 people were in the office on Friday.
