The westbound curb lane of Indian School Road at 78th Street is expected to be closed until about 12:30 p.m. because of a car hitting a pedestrian this morning.

The person who was struck about 11:40 a.m. suffered non-life threatening injuries, said Dan Edwards, traffic engineering analyst for Scottsdale.

The city is modifying traffic-signal timing in the area to help alleviate the congestion, Edwards said. Motorists are advised to avoid the intersection until it re-opens.
