LAKE HAVASU CITY - The numbers haven't quite reached holiday weekend proportions but Lake Havasu has already seen an uptick in visitors as the weather warms.

The popular Bridgewater Channel saw significant activity last weekend as locals mixed in with spring breakers arriving from colleges across the country.

Levi LaLonde Sr. said he and his family found an area known as the Sandbars - north of Lake Havasu - teeming with college students.

"Traffic there was a little full. The Sandbars were hectic," LaLonde said. "But everyone was polite and they were good at operating their boats. Plus the police have a good handle on things."
