Police in Fayetteville, N.C., arrested a 22-year-old man Friday in the death of a Mesa Community College tutor while she was visiting her husband last year at Fort Bragg.
Police arrested Roymari Campbell of Winston-Salem, N.C., on suspicion of robbing and killing Lori Beaudry, 43, according to a report in the Fayetteville Observer.
Campbell also is a suspect in the slaying of another North Carolina woman.
Beaudry had traveled to North Carolina to see her husband in October after he finished a 15-month deployment in Iraq. He was stationed at Fort Bragg.
Beaudry took a two-month leave of absence from her job as a math and science tutor at MCC’s Red Mountain campus for the visit. She was found Nov. 6 face down on a bed in an apartment with pillows stacked around her head.
The other woman was killed two days earlier.
Details about how police made the arrest were not available Saturday.
Police documents show that Campbell made a statement admitting to robbing Beaudry and being present “while she was murdered,” the Observer reported.
