Ongoing work on Loop 101 will briefly close the freeway in south Scottsdale this morning.
Also, a section of U.S. 60 in Tempe is scheduled to be shut down overnight into Sunday.
Shortly after midnight, the northbound lanes of Loop 101's Pima Freeway are to be blocked off from the Loop 202 interchange to McKellips Road.
The closure, which includes the eastbound 202's exit ramp to the 101, should end around 7:30 a.m. Sunday.
During the interim, motorists wishing to go north on Loop 101 will be detoured to McClintock Drive so they can enter the freeway at McKellips.
But immediately following that reopening, the southbound lanes of the 101 at McDowell Road will be closed.
Until 2 p.m., traffic will exit at McDowell and re-enter there.
In both cases, construction workers will be installing signs for the freeway's HOV-lanes project.
From 10 p.m. today to 9 a.m. Sunday, overhead sign work will close eastbound U.S. 60 between Interstate 10 and Priest Drive. To get around the closure, motorists are advised to take northbound state Route 143 to eastbound Loop 202 or use surface streets.
