A man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct-related offenses after he allegedly broke a beer bottle over the head of another bar patron during a scuffle at a Scottsdale nightclub Tuesday morning, moments after gunshots were fired inside the bar.

Howard Bell, 30, who was wanted on outstanding warrants in other jurisdictions, was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest about 2 a.m. at Club Next, 7111 E. Fifth Ave., police said.

A gunman fired a shot into the ceiling and floor of the club after a fight broke out. The gunman, who fled the scene, was described as black, between 20 and 30 years old, and wearing a black leather jacket.

The man who was hit in the head with a beer bottle suffered a cut on the side of his head that required medical attention, police said.
