Earlier this week, Chandler High swimming coach Richard Johnson and Red Mountain wrestling coach Nick Karantinos stepped down from their posts.
Both are outstanding coaches. But beyond that, they are great ambassadors for their sport, caring not only for their athletes but their sport’s well-being as well. Hopefully both will pop up again somewhere in the near future. They see the big picture and that’s important for high school sports to thrive.
