Unseasonably warm weather is expected to bake the Valley this week. The high temperatures Tuesday through Friday could reach 110 degrees or more; the normal for this time of year is 103.
National Weather Service already has issued a heat advisory for Tuesday and Wednesday.
There is little chance of precipitation, as the high-pressure system that is raising the temperature also is drying out the air.
Already in 2007, there have been 27 days with a high of 110 or greater. This is one day short of the record, set in 1979 and 2002.
