A 39-year-old Scottsdale man was listed in critical condition at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn hospital after crashing his Harley-Davidson motorcycle into the back of a Saturn at a major intersection about 6:30 p.m. Friday, closing the road for five hours.
The man was traveling south on Scottsdale Road near Thomas Road when he hit the back of the Saturn before colliding with the median and being thrown from the motorcycle, according to police.
The driver of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet and suffered severe head injuries, police said.
Police said alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.
No condition updates on the man were immediately available this morning.
