DAVIE, Fla. - The winless Miami Dolphins have decided to find out whether rookie John Beck is their quarterback of the future.

The second-round draft pick out of BYU, and a graduate of Mesa Mountain View High School, will make his NFL debut Sunday at Philadelphia. He's replacing Cleo Lemon, who started the previous five games after number-1 signal-caller Trent Green landed on injured reserve following his second severe concussion in 13 months.

The Dolphins of first-year head coach Cam Cameron are only the seventh NFL team to start 0-and-9 since 1990. Giving Beck a tryout now will help them decide whether they need to acquire a quarterback for next season.
