A wind advisory has been issued for northern Maricopa, north-central Pinal and southern Gila counties until 11 a.m. today.
The peak wind gusts reached 35 mph out of the north on Sunday and could peak at 40 mph Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
Craig Ellis from the National Weather Service says drivers need to stay alert.
"Stay in control of the vehicle, especially when winds are crossing the road, particularly those running from east to west," Ellis said.
The winds are expected to stay dry with no chance of producing storms, he said.
