PHOENIX - Gov. Janet Napolitano is promoting Paul Allvin to communications director to fill a vacancy created by the appointment of Kris Mayes to the Corporation Commission.
Allvin, currently one of two deputy communications directors, replaces Mayes on Monday, Napolitano said Thursday.
Allvin, whose primary responsibility is speech writing and some media relations, also served as the governor’s deputy communications director on her 2002 campaign and her post-election transition team.
The Tucson native is a former national communications director of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and a 1993 journalism graduate of the University of Arizona.
