Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Lindsey Smith said the stabbing did not appear to be related to the election.
Emergency responders found the victim in a car outside the Mission Market at 8818 S. Avenida Del Yaqui. Guadalupe’s lone polling place was just a few hundred feet away at town hall.
The victim’s injuries were serious, but Smith did not know whether the injury was life threatening. He was taken to a local hospital.
