Free agent pitcher Curt Schilling listed the Diamondbacks as one of the teams he would be interested in playing for next season on his blog, “38 Pitches.”
Of course, Schilling also listed almost half of the other teams in the league and reiterated that his first choice was to return to the Boston Red Sox, whom he helped win the World Series last week.
Schilling, who was also part of the D-Backs’ 2001 World Series championship team, also listed the Indians, Tigers, Angels, Mets, Phillies, Braves, Dodgers, Padres, Cubs, Cardinals and Brewers as teams he would be interested in.
Schilling is a free agent for the first time in his career.
“Hard to believe that after 21 years in professional baseball, the first day of free agency would come when I was 40 years old,” Schilling wrote in his blog. “I’ve not been a free agent for one day of my career before today.”
