AAA Arizona is offering its free Tipsy Tow service during the Labor Day holiday weekend to help residents get home if they drink too much.

Beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday and continuing through 11:59 p.m. Monday, drivers, passengers, party hosts, bartenders and others can call 1-800-AAA-HELP to request a free tow home of up to 10 miles. The program is open to anyone, not just AAA members, the motor group said.

"By providing Tipsy Tow as a resource to motorists and potential passengers who might otherwise find themselves in a dangerous situation, we're hoping to make Arizona roadways safer for everyone," said AAA Arizona Public Affairs Director Linda Gorman.

The service provides a one-way ride for the driver, one passenger and their vehicle. For tows longer than 10 miles, motorists can expect to be charged the towing company's standard rate.

AAA Arizona previously provided the same service for the Memorial Day and Fourth of July holidays.
