Scottsdale police are searching for a man accused by a 19-year-old woman of trying to kidnap her late Sunday in north Scottsdale.
The woman told police she was walking home in the area of Thompson Peak Parkway and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard about 10 p.m., when a stranger in a white Toyota Camry or Corolla asked her if she needed a ride.
The woman declined and continued walking. She told police she then heard footsteps running toward her and felt the man wrap his arms around her waist to pull her into his car, police said.
The woman was able to escape and run home before calling 911, police said.
Police described the car as a four-door sedan with tinted windows, tan interior, and gold lettering on the back.
The man is described as dark-haired, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin-to-average build. He was wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt and a white baseball cap.
