A Tempe woman awoke Sunday to find a stranger kissing her in her bedroom.

Police said James Armentrout, Jr., 38, was drunk and arrested on charges of burglary and aggravated assault.

Armentrout is suspected of going into a home on W. Loma Vista Drive about 6:40 a.m. through an unlocked front door. Police said he then walked into the bedroom and kissed a woman who was sleeping in her bed. When she awoke, the man fled the apartment.

Police said the woman immediately called authorities and officers located Armentrout quickly at a nearby apartment he was visiting.
