Chandler City Councilman Dean Anderson presented a check Thursday afternoon to the Chandler National Little League team for $22,150 to help cover parent expenses in traveling to Williamsport, Pa., to watch their sons play for the World Series — but the push to raise funds isn't over yet.

Though the games are over and the team is returning home around 7 p.m. today, the parents still have many expenses that they never anticipated before the Chandler National team won the right to represent the Western region after it beat out the Vineyard Little League team from Southern California Aug. 12.

"It's estimated that the expenses will run about $40,000," Chandler city spokesman Dave Bigos said.

Anyone making a donation of $100 or more today will receive an autographed ball from the Chandler National team, Bigos said.

Donations can be made to the Chandler Little League World Series account at any Wells Fargo branch, account number 9436706379.
