Arizona highway patrol officers have reopened state Route 260 between Payson and Heber after a storm forced its closure Friday night.
The Arizona Department of Transportation declared the route open at 3:20 p.m. Saturday, said Department of Public Safety Officer Tom Larson.
Earlier in the day, Larson said the highway would likely stay closed all weekend.
Larson said the storm had washed part of the pavement away, and the road had been closed since 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Larson said he was not sure what ADOT did to hasten the repair, but he said the road is now “serviceable.”
