An attempt to pull out an ATM machine with a leather loop from a Mesa CVS drugstore Friday morning was unsuccessful.

Police responded to an alarm at the CVS at 2809 Sossaman Road about 1:30 a.m. and discovered broken glass and tire tracks leading from the door and an ATM laying on its side.

After reviewing security surveillance video, police discovered that two white males involved in the burglary pulled their vehicle up to the door with a heavy chain and leather loop on it. The loop came off the ATM as they were pulling it before it fell on its side inside the drugstore, police said.
