Rabid bat found in Mesa Police Department

On Friday a live bat was found inside the identification section of the Mesa Police Department.

After the creature was captured the state lab tested it and found that it had rabies. No one was bite.

Police are using this odd incident as a reminder to be cautious around bats and call animal control at (480) 644-2211 immediately if one is in an office or home.
