Scottsdale police arrested a woman Saturday morning on suspicion of DUI after she drove her vehicle around barricades into a flooded wash and was swept off the road.
Police said Scottsdale resident Madeline Beach, 27, drove her BMW into about three feet of swift water at about 2:25 a.m. near Hayden Road and McDonald Drive.
Scottsdale, Phoenix and Tempe rescue units pulled Beach from the water.
Police said Beach was booked on suspicion of extreme DUI and reckless driving, and released.
