Palestinian Mohammed Khalil, 12, looks on while working in a scrap yard on the outskirts of the West Bank city of Ramallah, Tuesday, April 7, 2008. About 35,000 West Bank children, age 15 or younger, worked full time in 2006, an increase from several thousand from 2004, said Mamoun Eid, an official in the Palestinian Labor Ministry. Still, the problem is not as prevalent as in other developing economies, and many Palestinian parents try hard to keep their children in school.
