BANGKOK, Thailand - Thailand's Election Commission has ruled that the governing People's Power Party committed electoral fraud in December polls and should be dissolved.
The ruling further complicates the country's continuing political crisis.
The Election Commission's Secretary General Suthiphon Thawichaikan says the commission unanimously voted to dissolve the People's Power Party. The case now will be forwarded to the public prosecutors office who then will determine whether it should be submitted to the Constitutional Court for a final ruling.
Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej is already under pressure to resign, after anti-government protesters took over the prime minister's residence last week.
